Sep 6, 2018 · Starting your loop yarn blanket. Start by cutting a few loops apart at the beginning of your skein. To do this just snip the loop apart at the base of the loop. This will give you a “tail” you can sew in at the end. Unravel your yarn a bit and laying out your desired amount of loops. For this tutorial, I will be using 10 loops. You will need approx. 775 yds for the blanket body and 225 yds for the blanket border (1000 yds in total). For the blanket body, I used Bernat Softee Baby, Ombre in the color “Baby Baby.”. This yarn is size 3 (light) and 100% acrylic. A skein is 310 yds / 283 m and 4.25 oz / 120 g. I used two and a half skeins of yarn.On the cut side I put the clips closer together. Sew all the way around the blanket going slow so that the minky doesn’t slip out of place. Leave an 8 inch hole for turning, and make sure to backstitch on each side of the hole.
